6th November.  Decoupage stars and wire Christmas Tree decorations.

2nd October. 10th Birthday for our WI Lite Group

"Desert Divas", a truly amazing group of Bollywood Style Dancers, came to join us in celebrating our 10 years of being a WI Lite Group.

After demonstrating a number of dances and the especially beautiful hand movements, Raheesha and her group were all set to get us up and dancing.  It was a really fun evening for everyone and we laughed, danced and "Fed the Chickens" !

After the fun of dancing we enjoyed all the Indian finger food that the members had brought along.  One of our best evenings this year.

4th September. The circle of life & Endangered Species.

Simon is a former businessman who has been directly involved in conservation for the past 23 years.  He is not a scientist, but has a sound working grasp of Ecology and Conservation from a lifetime of passionate interest and association with scientific/conservation projects and field studies all over the world, together with experience of living and working in many different countries and cultures.  Mandy is a keen and competent nature photographer and her images, which emphasise animal behaviour as well as the beauty and fascination of nature, bring the talks to life.

Tonight, Grant Berry from Yapp Wines gave us a short tour of some of the French vineyards they deal with. Over twenty members and visitors enjoyed sampling rosé, white and red wine and all went home a little merrier.

6th April - AGM and Freewheelers.

Tonight we held our AGM and after going through the Secretary’s report, the Treasurer's report and the  President's report which were all agreed and seconded, we moved on to the committee changes.  Three of our long serving members stepped down, Dympna as secretary, Caroline as Treasurer and Kathryn as raffle organiser. Everyone was grateful for their hard work and they were presented with Thank You cards and vouchers.

The new Secretary is Sandy Redfearn, President is Niki Foote and Treasurer is Maeve Gogarty.

Five other members put their names forward to join the committee, Christine Drutman, Liz Keenan, Gilli Urch, Karen Morgan and Pat de Brett.  Their roles will be decided later.

This year is our WI Lite’s 10th Birthday and as Christine Baker is our longest serving member (she has been with us from the start) she was given a bouquet of flowers.

Patrick from Freewheelers gave us a very informative talk about his voluntary job as a Freewheeler.  In 1990, the charity was formed in the Bristol area and there about 60 bikes now covering the Bristol, Bath and  Taunton areas. These bikes carry blood, plasma, drugs and lot more.  They are a vital link between the NHS and patients.  All volunteers  also are fundraisers as all of their running costs have to be raised by them.

6th March - Sugarcraft with Lyn's Cakes

We had so much fun making Peter Rabbit and Jemina Puddle Duck.

6th February - Labrador Rescue Centre, with  Lilian Hopton

Bailey the golden labrador

This is the lovely e-mail from Bailey's "Mum".

I did enjoy meeting your group on Wednesday; one of the most responsive gatherings I have addressed, and such a friendly welcome.  One of your members kindly gave me £5 which is now winging its way with your cheque to our treasurer.  I didn't get her name, but please pass on my thanks at your next meeting.

Kind regards,

2nd January - Skittles
